Edition Notes: The 53 works in the series are grouped into nine categories, each designated by a Roman numeral and each work within a category is numbered with an Arabic numeral (II: ten works). The monoprint was printed from four irregularly cut, photoetched magnesium plates, hand-drawn screens and photo screens and assorted rubber stamps made from Heizer's drawings and from found objects. The title of the series refers to the sculpture site 45 degrees, 90 degrees and 180 degrees, which the artist developed in Montana. The photographs used for the etched magnesium plates were of sculptural models relating to the site. Rodney Konopaki and Bob Cross printed the plates and screens. Heizer hand-coloured the monoprints with Paintstiks, graphite, coloured pencils, crayons and acrylic paints. The artist, assisted by Kenneth Tyler, stamped and spray-painted sections of the prints with acrylic colours.
