This necklace, of grey and pink cast polyester oval beads that merge together at the necklace’s mid-point, shows Mascha Moje’s continuing interest in patterns of growth, the division of cell-like forms, the nature of skin and the translucency of synthetic materials. Technically highly refined, its qualities of delicacy and apparent fragility invite the intimacy that comes with close inspection of its elements. As in the growth patterns of natural organisms, Moje’s jewellery appears to change imperceptibly from one state to another, their elements morphing into different shapes and colours, and creating a subtle, elegant and non-verbal transaction between maker, user and viewer.
