Edition Notes: Lithograph printed onto chine applique in two colours: black and red. Small green crayon addition. This proof has part of page 67 image printed on right side in black ink. Robert Motherwell prepared the nineteen lithographic images in 'El Negro' on Mylar and acetate sheets using Paintstiks, grease pencils and alcohol tusche which he applied with brushes and a bamboo pen. The images were transferred to aluminium plates by Lee Funderburg. The plates were printed by Funderburg and Roger Campbell on a flat bed offset press. Papermaking by Steve Reeves and Tom Strianese. This image is one of seven images that were printed separately in editions (without text) of 98 plus 14 artist's proofs numbered I-XIV.
