Primary Insc: Rubber-stamped ink, m.c., 'FOSTERVILLE INSTITUTE OF/ APPLIED & PROGRESSIVE/ CULTURAL EXPERIENCE', and lower right, 'detail/ A Person Looks At A Work Of Art/ someone looks at something...'. Inscribed verso lower left to right in fibre tipped pen, 'To the best of my knowledge I stamped this image with my Fosterville Institute stamp in 1980. I recently found some TIME magazines from that year, which to me seems to confirm what I remember. So: I would prefer, given that it doesn't much matter, that the work be given a specific year - 1980 - rather than circa 1980. Peter Tyndall, 1991.
