Edition Notes: An original 28 colour (including 14 ink colours, 2 dye colours, and 12 hand-painted colours) woodcut, lithograph, screenprint, collage, hand-painted, hand-carved, screen. The upper portion consists of four folding panels constructed of Tycore with maple wood veneer edges and the lower portion consists of stationary steps constructed of maple wood and maple plywood. The screen, except for the top of the steps, was laminated with natural Okawara collage handmade paper to provide a mounting surface for the printed collage papers. Screenprinting was added to one side after adhering the collage papers. The artist then painted areas of the screen and carved the steps. The completed screen was sprayed with five coats of MSA (mineral spirits acrylic) varnish, a clear matte finish with ultraviolet inhibitors. Velcro strips were applied to the bottom edges of the folding panels and on the top of the steps to register and connect the two sections.
