Primary Insc: Mihalis 'got off at Port Melbourne' in 1951 after being invited by his sister, Athina, and her husband, who had arrived a year earlier. Working in annumber of jobs for brief periods, in 1960 he undertook employment with G.J.Coles in their POrt Melbourne warehouse. Ill health forced his retiremen t in 1983. Since his first return visit to Ithaca in 1971, he has repatedly journeyed back and forth between Greece and Australia. Mihalis feels that Au stralia- 'its like my own country...I've been there forty years' but back in Greece, I feel as if I haven't left at all...I settle in very easily."
