Materials & Technique: photographs, albums, gelatin silver or printing out paper. Support: red leatherette covered bound album, prints are loose mounted in corner slits on recto and verso of grey folded paper pages

Primary Insc: Title of album embossed in gold letters on front cover ' Photographieën'
Secondary Insc: inscribed in ink on spine ' British India, Birma' verso front cover in pencil '62 figures India, Burma c.1880-1890' [possibly the inscription of the vendor Leo Haks, or previous owner as there are no Burma images] On each page a title in pencil under the image is written in the same hand, presumably by an owner. Several different hands as well as the writer of the titles on the recto of pages, are evident in inscriptions on the verso.
