Primary Insc: In the upper left corner a circular red seal that echoes the plum blossoms and the circle or full moon reads `ru' meaning `the original state of oneness'. On the left side of the painting is the calligraphic inscription of the title of the painting `a branch of plum blossom (yi zhi mei)', followed by the cyclical year for the year 2008 when the painting was done, `yihe', artist's pen name and a red seal read `Shen shi', the `Shen family name' of the artist.
