Noble’s series At the end of the earth examines man-made interventions in the immaculate terrain. Noble’s approach challenges the expected, romanticised representation of the Antarctic as heroic, sublime and unpeopled and instead depicts it as a place where ordinary people live and work. A place where people – like the early explorers before them – use humour to make easier a daily existence far from home.
