Edition Notes: Previously thought to have been a unique state, edition details for this work were revised on 11 June 2013 following a query by former National Gallery Senior Curator, Daniel Thomas. Two impressions of the work exist: one is held in the National Gallery Collection, the other in the Queensland Art Gallery. Both impressions are inscribed as 1/6, but printer, John Loane, suggests that the NGA impression is the artist's proof, and the QAG's the first in the intended edition. The series had a projected edition of 6, but was not completed due to damage to plates. Printed: 1/6 #1 - 24, 2/6 #1 - 12 and I/VI #1 - 24; not printed: 2 artist's proofs, 1 printer's proof, 2/6 #13 - 24, 3/6 - 6/6 and II/VI-VI/VI [FP P39].
