Creation Notes: An early inscribed label on the work lists the property as Barongarook in Colac, Otway shire, Victoria, the home of Elizabeth and Hugh Murray then c1855-59 as house was constructed 1853 in Colac Otway Shire. Hugh Murray died in 1859. However, local historical society advice has affirmed the property is Ledcourt at Stawell, the home of Elizabeth's sister Isabella nee Young and husband John Carfrae
