Tertiary Insc: inscribed on mount verso upper left to upper right in pen and black ink, 'To Philip Bagenal / from his father Nov 1939. A good early Colonial Watercolour. / Artist unknown. Date early - probably the forties or fifties / of last century. Bought at W.T. Spencer New Oxford Street / and sent to Australia under war conditions. / HB.' Incribed on mount verso lower right in pencil, 'bought / Leonad [sic.] Joel / 23/5/75. / A 1756 [latter overwritten in black ballpoint pen]'. Inscribed on white adhesive label affixed to mount verso in pen and black ink, '10427'. Printed on white adhesive label affixed to mount verso in black ink, 'Mr & Mrs R N Bagot / 21 Church Tce / WALKERVILLE SA 5081 / Telephone 65 2731'.
