Primary Insc: stamped inside lid and repeated inside base: "RB/sovereign head/leopard head/W/lion passant"
Secondary Insc: coat of arms engraved under base: "[hand bearing a bloody knife/shield with three horizontal dark bands and a hand bearing a dagger in the upper left corner/ribbon with motto "PUGNO"]" inscription engraved under coat of arms: "To Br Despard/Lieu. Col. H.M. 17 "Reg."/Presented as a mark of Esteem/from/The Masonic Lodges of/New South Wales./Jany. 6th 1836."
