Edition Notes: This artist's book is in two components. One a concertina long digital print to be installed on the wall and the other the book which is cradled on a shelf. The book is comprised of a series of woodblocks which are originally based on tracings of the movements of the sky. I have printed these woodcuts in white. Under the white ink are typed words – most of which are selected from an 'open letter to Australia from Manus island detainees (2013)'. https://independentaustralia.net/australia/australia-display/open-letter-to-australia-from-manus-isl and-detainees,4854 The book is intended to be neutral. The viewer can make up their own mind. The idea is that we live under the same sky as those detained however our lives are very different due to chance circumstances. - From email correspondednce with the artist - 16-11-2015.
