The awesome beauty of a drought stricken and eroded landscape was the subject of Tree forms, a design for furnishing fabric by Russell Drysdale for Silk and Textile Printers in 1946. Drysdale was among a group of Australian artists commissioned by this company, bringing images of the outback into the new spare, modern interiors of Australia’s postwar domestic, suburban environment.
