- by descent to Major General Sir Richard Howard-Vyse (d.1963), Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire;
- by inheritance to his widow Lady Howard-Vyse;
- from whom bought through Thomas Agnew & Sons Ltd, London, by the Commonwealth of Australia, 1965
