Primary Insc: signed lower left in pen and black ink 'S. T. G'. not dated or titled. inscribed on street lamp as part of work, 'Albion'.
Secondary Insc: inscribed on street lamp as part of work, 'Albion'.
Tertiary Insc: inscribed verso centre in black pencil, 'Kilmore ...(illeg) / 7.30 PM'. inscribed verso centre upside down in black pencil, '35'. A brown paper sheet (undated) originally with the work and now stored with the old worksheet is inscribed (not by artist) "Passenger Coach/ Outside the Albion Hotel/then No 37 Bourke St/Melbourne . 1865/ (Site now occupied by/Buckley & Nunn)". Title "Outside the Albion Hotel, Bourke Street, Melbourne" was used by Joel's at time of purchase - see file 72/1539 f10.
