Edition Notes: The ashtray and nose images were cast in bronze using the lost wax process and derived from the original clay models created by the artist. The leather bag was hand-crafted from the artist's original muslin mock up. The carpentary on the redwood box was as well as the wood burning of the nose-lock images were from the artist's original mock-ups. The wooden discs made from walnut were produced in two sizes and rubber stamped by hand. The original drawing by the artist, which appears on the inside lid of the box, was hand screenprinted. The deerskin leather- covered paperbook was handmade with the title blind-embossed. Text pages were hand-printed by letterpress on bible paper. Other materials included vat-dyed cowhide, suede, redwood chips and a reversible zipper. Collaboration and supervision by Kenneth Tyler and Jeffrey Sanders, edition made by Kenneth Tyler, Jeff Sanders assisted by Ralph Burke, Robert Dressen, Peter Hoefer, Lucious Hudson, Jack Kroloff, Thomas Papaleo, James Robie, Jack Speight, Herbert Tomkins, Jeffrey Wasserman. Fabrication: bronze by Classic Bronze, Los Angeles; leather by Featherlike Products, Los Angeles; wood by Tompkins Tooling, Inc., Gardena. Lost wax molds were destroyed by the foundry. The notebook exists in limited edition of 200 copies plus 25 artist proofs. Copies 1-75 are marked A and copies 76-200 are marked B on the colophon page. The B section of the edition is reserved for future publication. The signature and date "co 69" is stamped in bronze at the base of cigarette butts.
