More detail

The photographer, Peter Peryer, and the rabbit he has photographed, live on the north island of New Zealand. Peryer has zoomed in with his camera to capture this very large rabbit being held by its owner. We can’t see the face of the person and they hold Sandy the rabbit in such a way that the animal’s body dominates the composition.

Did you notice the word ‘giant’ in the title of the photograph? Is Sandy much larger than most rabbits you have seen? Flemish Giants are some of the biggest rabbits in the world and the photographer was very interested in the rabbit’s size compared with the size of its owner.

Activity: Photograph your pet with another object so that your pet’s size becomes the focus of the image.
