  • One of Will Dyson's most powerful anti-war images, the lithograph Wine of victory (German prisoners captured at Ypres) depicts three heavily-wounded German prisoners. Blinded, maimed and exhausted, the three prisoners lean upon each other, their injuries testament to the evils of war. Wine of victory (German prisoners captured at Ypres) is a compassionate image of the enemy, and an affirmation of common humanity in suffering.
