Edition Notes: Experimental paper printed in black from lino block. TGL papermaking by Tom Strianese and Jed Marshall. Aluminum plate preparation and processing, proofing and edition printing of all printing elements by Lee Funderburg. Preparation and adhering of collage elements by Michael Mueller and Scott Lewis. 14 colour (including three coloured papers and one white paper) woodcut, relief, lithograph, collage printed from two woodblocks, one aluminum plate and one linoleum block. The small circles ashered to the top layer were punched out of "Sanderling" and were printed on yellow paper from two woodblocks and one aluminum plate. Colours printed were: yellow, black (printed two times), and white with pink, blue-grey (printed three times) and white (printed two times) printed on the small circles. After printing the layers were adhered. The papers for the top layer were created by the artist in January and February of 1989 while collaborating with papermakers at the Gandhi Ashram paper mill in Ahmadabad, India. At the mill, the papers were stitched together and were untied at TGL leaving perforations in the surface.
